Developing Self-Compassion through Creative Play
Date: Sunday 30th August 2020 Time: 10am - 3pm Venue: Maker Workshop, Arts Centre, 1 Hereford St, Christchurch (the entrance is opposite the YMCA). Cost: By Koha (suggested $30) Your Koha helps me cover the cost of materials provided. Bookings essential. Email: jo@thefeathersproject.com Suitable for adults In this workshop Jo will offer ways to bring active compassion to ourselves through creative expression and play. The workshop will not teach a particular art technique or media such as acrylics or pastels, but will instead explore the inner workings of creativity and how to nourish a gentle approach to get beyond our creative blocks and inner critic. We'll use crayons, inks, paints and our imagination to explore and express what it feels like to be playful and to capture the felt sense of ease and nourishment that can arise in creative play. The creative play will involve developing layers of colour, making marks, and tuning in to what brings you joy. The workshop is partly inspired by the Max Gimblett exhibition currently on at the Christchurch Art Gallery/ Te Puna o Waiwehtū. What you will need to bring: All materials provided. No previous experience necessary. BYO lunch and water-bottle. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy. For more information, email jo@thefeathersproject.com |
